DEKALB COUNTY, Colo.
— An Ace plane crashed near Denver International Airport Saturday morning, killing three people and injuring more than a dozen others, authorities said.
The accident was reported at about 5 a.m. local time at the southwest gate of Denver International, officials said in a statement.
The plane, a Piper Cherokee, was flying to Minneapolis when it crashed, according to the statement.
A man was killed in the crash and a passenger was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, the statement said.
“The cause of the crash is under investigation, but no further information will be released until the investigation is complete,” the statement added.
