The latest iteration of PC gaming hardware comes from the makers of the acclaimed Predator and X-Men franchises, and it’s also the most affordable gaming headset on the market.
Here’s everything you need to know about the Acer Predator X-Force 8G.
[Editor’s Note: We have reviewed the Predator X Series before.
This review will only use the latest model, the X-Series, which has been updated to be compatible with the new generation of Razer laptops.]
What are the biggest differences between the Predator and the X series?
The X-series is one of the best gaming headsets in the market, thanks to its high quality build quality, solid, lightweight construction, and comfortable feel.
The Predator X series is not just a better gaming headset, it’s a gaming headset that is just as comfortable and versatile as its predecessor.

In the video below, we’ll highlight some of the main differences between each headset.
The X series of gaming headsets features the Predator’s distinctive angled nose, which is located above the chin and sits on the back of the head.
It also features a proprietary hinge that sits on top of the headset, which lets you adjust the angle and height of the helmet for optimal comfort.
The top-mounted speaker is mounted on the bottom of the faceplate, which allows for improved sound performance and a more comfortable fit.
Acer’s Predator Xseries also features four additional audio inputs, one of which is a USB-C port.
It has three microphones and one USB-A port.
The rear panel also features three microphones, a microphone jack, and an HDMI port.
Acer also offers a second microphone jack for external headphones, which provides a microphone for a wireless audio device.
There are four ports for connecting external accessories, including a MicroSD slot, Ethernet, and USB-Type C. Acer offers two wireless charging ports, one USB Type C, and two USB Type A ports.
There is also an optional power adapter for the headset.
What is the difference between the X and X1 models?
Both models are made of the same material and have similar color options.
There aren’t any major differences between them, except for the color.
Both headsets are available in either the black or the white color options, and both have an 8.5-inch 1080p screen, while the X1 model has a 12.5 x 9.9-inch screen.
The two models also feature two wireless audio sources: one on the front and one on each side.
Both have an Ethernet port, while both offer a USB Type-C connector.
What are some of its biggest advantages?
While the Predator has the highest quality gaming headset design, it doesn’t come without its flaws.
The headband is not as thick as some other headsets, making it a little uncomfortable to wear on your head.
The ergonomic design can be a bit uncomfortable to use on your body, so you’ll want to invest in a more supportive headband or two, as there are no adjustments to make in the design of the X, X1, or X2 models.
Also, the included headset pads can be uncomfortable to work with.
If you’re looking for an affordable gaming system that features a sturdy build, this is definitely not it.
What about compatibility?
Both the Predator, X, and X2 are compatible with Windows 10 Mobile.
The differences are fairly subtle, but both the X2 and X model have the same HDMI port, and the Predator is the only model that has a USB C port.
You can also connect an external Bluetooth headset to the Predator without worrying about the device being limited to Bluetooth.
There’s also an Ethernet jack on the X model, but this one is not included.
Acer is also selling a Bluetooth-ready version of the Predator for Windows 10 PCs, but that doesn’t offer any features.
What do you expect to get out of the Acer X-Gaming Predator 8G?
The Predator 8 is a very similar headset to its predecessor, the Predator 4G, with a smaller 8.4-inch display.
The base of the 8G is a slightly thicker model, with more foam padding to reduce head fatigue.
It does offer a wider range of sound settings and audio inputs.
Acer has also included an additional microphone, as the X4 model does, for a better audio experience.
What’s the biggest drawback to the Acer product line?
If you’ve already tried out the Predator before, you may have noticed a lot of noticeable differences between it and its predecessor model.
The only thing that really sticks out about the X is the shape of the nose.
The first model had a very flat and angled nose that didn’t quite feel right.
The new X model has more of a convex nose
